Rwanda’s High Commissioner Engages Central Punjab Business Community to Strengthen Trade Ties
High Commissioner of Rwanda to Pakistan, Fatou Harerimana, conducted a five-day visit to Central Punjab’s business community, engaging with industry leaders and chambers of commerce to enhance bilateral trade and economic cooperation.
During her visit, the High Commissioner held discussions with key business chambers, including the Lahore, Sialkot, Faisalabad and Gujranwala Chamber of Commerce and Industry. She also toured various industrial units, focusing on textiles, surgical equipment, pharmaceuticals, agriculture, sports goods, and manufacturing industries.
Starting in Sialkot, she visited surgical equipment manufacturers, aviation clothing exporters, and tactical gear producers. In Lahore, she explored Sundar Industrial Estate and attended the 1st FOODAG Manufacturing Exhibition, organized by the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan, highlighting advancements in food and agricultural manufacturing.
The High Commissioner emphasized the potential for bilateral trade expansion in key sectors, including rice, tea, coffee, pharmaceuticals, and textiles. She encouraged Pakistani businesses to explore opportunities in Rwanda, particularly in rice exports and industrial collaborations.
Meetings in Faisalabad and Gujranwala further focused on industrial partnerships, with discussions on expanding textile and chemical industries. The visit aimed to mobilize Pakistani businesses for investment and trade expansion in Rwanda, strengthening economic ties between the two nations.
