Parliamentary Secretary for Human Rights, Member of the National Assembly (MNA) Saba Sadiq, has reaffirmed the government’s unwavering resolve to protect the rights and improve the welfare of Pakistan’s labour community.

In a message commemorating International Labour Day, Saba Sadiq stated that the current government is taking concrete steps to uplift the working class. These efforts include the strict implementation of minimum wage laws and the introduction of comprehensive labour welfare programs.

“Our vision of inclusive, rapid, and sustainable economic growth is built on the hard work and dedication of our labour force,” she said.

She highlighted that the federal government, in close coordination with provincial authorities, is actively pursuing initiatives aimed at raising the living standards of workers and ensuring their access to essential rights and services.

Key Government Measures for Labour Welfare:

  • Enforcement of minimum wage regulations across sectors
  • Workplace reforms to ensure safe and healthy working conditions
  • Skill development programs for youth and workers
  • Certification schemes to enhance employability, especially abroad

Saba Sadiq stressed that only a well-compensated, skilled, and healthy workforce can help Pakistan achieve its full socio-economic potential.

She further stated that reforms are underway to modernize labour laws, enhance job security, and provide better training opportunities for Pakistan’s youth.

Concluding her message, the parliamentary secretary reiterated the government’s commitment to protecting labour rights and ensuring that all workers receive the recognition and facilities they deserve.
