SAPM Fatemi Engages US Congress Leaders on Strengthening Pakistan-US Relations
Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) on Foreign Affairs, Syed Tariq Fatemi, held discussions with senior US Congress leaders, highlighting Pakistan’s economic priorities and foreign policy objectives.
During his official visit to the United States, Fatemi met with key Republican and Democrat leaders, including Chairman of the US House Foreign Affairs Committee Brian Mast, Ranking Member of the Subcommittee on South and Central Asia Congresswoman Sydney Kamlager-Dove, and Pakistan Caucus Co-Chairs Jack Bergman and Tom Suozzi.
The talks focused on enhancing bilateral cooperation, particularly in trade, investment, and economic partnerships. Fatemi stressed that expanding economic relations remains a top priority for the Pakistani government.
“Strengthening trade and investment partnerships between Pakistan and the US is essential for mutual prosperity,” he stated, urging greater collaboration in key sectors.
Beyond economic matters, discussions also covered regional stability and global affairs, with both sides acknowledging the importance of maintaining strong diplomatic engagement to address shared challenges.
Fatemi reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to working closely with the US in advancing peace, security, and development initiatives in South Asia.
His visit underscores Pakistan’s proactive diplomatic approach to deepening its ties with the United States, with a focus on economic growth and regional cooperation.
