Saudi Ambassador Hosts Ceremony in Islamabad to Distribute Umrah Travel Documents
Report By Syed Farzand Ali
The Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to Pakistan, Nawaf bin Saeed Al-Maliki, hosted a special ceremony at the Saudi Embassy in Islamabad on Wednesday, where he distributed travel documents to Umrah pilgrims traveling under the special invitation of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz.
Speaking at the event, the Saudi Ambassador emphasized the deep-rooted religious and brotherly ties between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. He highlighted that Pakistan is among the 60 countries from which pilgrims are invited under this special initiative to perform Umrah and visit the holy sites.
As part of this year’s program, a specially selected group of 30 pilgrims, including one woman, will depart for Madinah on Thursday. The initiative, which takes place annually during Ramadan, aims to facilitate Pakistani pilgrims in performing Umrah under the royal invitation.
It is noteworthy that the Saudi Embassy in Pakistan regularly extends invitations to individuals from various sectors to perform Hajj and Umrah under exclusive arrangements, further strengthening the historic and fraternal bond between the two nations.
