Saudi Arabia Condemns Israeli Maps Annexing Parts of Jordan, Lebanon, Syria
Riyadh has strongly criticized Israel’s recent publication of maps that portray territories in Jordan, Syria, and Lebanon as part of Israel, calling the move a violation of international norms and regional sovereignty.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, the Saudi Foreign Ministry denounced the maps as extremist acts, accusing Israel of seeking to solidify its occupation of the disputed regions. “These actions demonstrate Israel’s blatant disregard for the sovereignty of neighboring countries and international laws,” the statement read.
The ministry urged the international community to take immediate action to halt Israel’s violations. It emphasized the need to uphold the territorial integrity of Jordan, Syria, and Lebanon, warning that such actions threaten peace and stability in the region.
“Respect for sovereignty and clearly defined borders is crucial for reducing tensions and safeguarding ongoing peace efforts,” Saudi Arabia declared, reaffirming its support for a peaceful resolution to conflicts in the Middle East.
The move has sparked widespread condemnation across the region, with many nations aligning with Saudi Arabia’s call for an urgent response to what they view as provocative actions undermining prospects for long-term peace.
