Saudi Arabia Plans to Purchase 191 Aircraft for 2034 FIFA World Cup Preparations

Saudi Arabia has taken significant steps to ensure it is prepared to host the global event. Saudi Arabian Airlines (السعودیہ ایئر) has announced plans to expand its fleet with the purchase of 191 modern aircraft.

Spokesperson Engineer Abdullah Al-Shahrani confirmed that the new aircraft will be delivered in phases, increasing the airline’s fleet from 190 to 381 by the time of the World Cup. The move is part of a broader strategy to accommodate the influx of international and domestic travelers expected for the event.

The new aircraft will feature state-of-the-art designs, aimed at providing the highest level of service to passengers. The expansion is also set to support Saudi Arabia’s preparations for Expo 2030, which will further elevate the country’s infrastructure and tourism capabilities.

In addition to expanding its fleet, Saudi Arabia is working to enhance airport facilities in key cities—Riyadh, Jeddah, Khobar, Neom, and Abha—which will host the World Cup matches. The tournament’s opening and closing ceremonies will take place in Riyadh.
