Saudi Arabia to Host 2034 FIFA World Cup, Crown Prince Hails Landmark Victory

Saudi Arabia has officially been selected to host the 2034 FIFA World Cup, a decision celebrated by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, who described it as a testament to the Kingdom’s growing global prominence. The Crown Prince extended his congratulations to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz, crediting the achievement to Saudi Arabia’s ambitious vision and capabilities.

The tournament will feature 48 nations competing across five cities: Riyadh, Jeddah, Al Khobar, Abha, and the innovative city of NEOM. Plans include 15 cutting-edge stadiums and iconic fan festival sites, promising an unforgettable experience for players, officials, and spectators alike.

Crown Prince Mohammed underscored the role of Saudi talent, infrastructure, and forward-thinking strategies in securing the World Cup, describing it as an opportunity to showcase Arab culture and values to the world.

Gulf Cooperation Council Secretary General Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi also celebrated the announcement, calling it a source of pride for the entire region. “Saudi Arabia’s hosting of this prestigious event reflects its leadership’s vision, organizational excellence, and strategic planning capabilities,” he said.

Saudi Arabia’s campaign, “Growing. Together.”, detailed the Kingdom’s comprehensive plan for the event. The King Salman International Stadium in Riyadh, a state-of-the-art facility, will serve as the centerpiece, hosting the opening and final matches. Other key locations include Jeddah Waterfront and King Salman Park, which will feature sprawling FIFA Fan Festivals.
