The Saudi Ministry of Sport announced on Friday that the Kingdom will host the Spanish Super Cup football competitions for the fifth time. The tournament will feature four prominent clubs: Real Madrid, Barcelona, Athletic Bilbao, and Real Mallorca, competing in a knockout format at Jeddah’s King Abdullah Sports City Stadium from January 8 to 12, 2025.

In the opening matches, Real Madrid will take on Real Mallorca on January 8, followed by Barcelona facing Athletic Bilbao the next day. The winners of these encounters will move on to compete in the final, scheduled for January 12.

Saudi Arabia has previously hosted four editions of the Spanish Super Cup, including the 2020 tournament, where Real Madrid clinched the title by defeating Atlético Madrid. The second edition in 2022 also saw Real Madrid emerge victorious, while Barcelona won the third edition against Real Madrid. Earlier this year, Real Madrid lifted the cup again in Riyadh.

Hosting the Spanish Super Cup is part of Saudi Arabia’s Quality of Life Program, highlighting the Kingdom’s efforts to attract major regional and international sporting events. This initiative aligns with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030, which aims to enhance and develop the sports sector within the country.
