Saudi Arabia Warns: Hajj Without Permit Is a Sin and Threatens Pilgrim Safety
Report By Safarti Tarjuman International Desk
Saudi Arabia’s Council of Senior Scholars has dclared that performing Hajj without an official permit is strictly prohibited.
Saudi Arabia’s Council of Senior Scholars has declared that performing Hajj without an official permit is a violation of Islamic law. In a statement issued on Sunday, the Council stressed that unauthorized participation in Hajj is a sin and could jeopardize the safety, health, and services provided to pilgrims.
Officials emphasized that obtaining a Hajj permit is essential not only for legal reasons but also for maintaining order during the annual pilgrimage, which gathers millions of worshippers in the holy sites.
Meanwhile, the Holy Makkah Municipality announced that over 22,000 personnel have been deployed to support Hajj operations this year. According to municipality spokesman Osama Al-Zeitouni, 28 service centers have been set up across Makkah and the holy sites to assist pilgrims.
Al-Zeitouni highlighted that several digital platforms and mobile apps have been introduced to enhance service delivery and streamline procedures.
Key Measures for a Safe and Organized Hajj
The Municipality has outlined comprehensive plans, including:
-
Specialized training for staff in crisis and crowd management.
-
Rapid response teams for emergencies such as fires or heavy rains.
-
Waste management systems and pest control programs to ensure hygiene.
-
Continuous disinfection campaigns at camps and public spaces.
-
Food safety inspections across markets, restaurants, and grocery stores.
