
Saudi Shura Council Delegation Visits Pakistan Parliament to Advance Strategic Legislative Cooperation

ISLAMABAD — A high-level Saudi Shura Council delegation visited Pakistan’s Parliament House on Monday, marking a significant diplomatic move aimed at enhancing Saudi-Pakistani parliamentary cooperation and reinforcing decades of strategic partnership between the two nations.
The delegation was warmly received by members of the National Assembly of Pakistan, senior officials, and parliamentary leaders. During the visit, the Saudi delegates were briefed on the structure, functions, and legislative processes of Pakistan’s parliament.
The visiting delegation engaged in detailed discussions with Deputy Speaker Syed Ghulam Mustafa Shah, focusing on mutual interests and avenues for enhanced diplomatic and legislative collaboration. The deputy speaker emphasized the historic bond between Pakistan and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, underlining the need for continued collaboration at the legislative and diplomatic levels.

The Saudi delegation, led by Major General (R) Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Harbi, included Dr. Iman Al-Jabreen and Engineer Salem Al-Shahrani. They expressed sincere appreciation for the warm hospitality extended by Pakistan and praised the country’s legislative framework.
Terming the visit “memorable and insightful,” the delegates reaffirmed Saudi Arabia’s commitment to expanding cooperation in legislative affairs and promoting mutual understanding between the two parliaments.
A formal luncheon reception was hosted in honor of the Saudi guests, attended by federal ministers, parliamentarians, and dignitaries. In a symbolic gesture of friendship, commemorative shields were presented to the Saudi delegates by Deputy Speaker Shah, representing the deep-rooted brotherhood and strategic alliance between Islamabad and Riyadh.
The visit concluded with a mutual pledge to continue working closely on regional challenges and global issues through enhanced parliamentary diplomacy.
