Report by Syed Farzand Ali

After an intense two-day military operation, security forces successfully rescued all passengers who were taken hostage aboard the Jafar Express. According to the Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif, the operation resulted in the martyrdom of four security personnel and 21 passengers, while 33 terrorists killed in a retaliatory strike.

High-Stakes Operation in a Sensitive Region

The operation took place in a high-risk area of Balochistan, where armed militants had hijacked the train and taken passengers hostage. As soon as the attack was reported, security forces, including the army and special counterterrorism units, launched a well-coordinated operation to neutralize the threat and ensure the safe recovery of hostages.

Swift Action Prevents a Major Catastrophe

Security officials confirmed that the terrorists had planned to use the hostages as leverage, but the rapid response of the forces prevented a large-scale disaster. The exchange of heavy gunfire and tactical strikes continued for nearly 48 hours before the final assault led to the elimination of all assailants.

Government and Military Leadership Commend Operation

Following the successful operation, Prime Minister and Chief of Army Staff (COAS) praised the courage and professionalism of security forces. They extended their deepest condolences to the families of the martyrs, assuring them that their sacrifices will not go in vain.

The DG ISPR reiterated that Pakistan remains committed to eliminating terrorism and that such cowardly acts will not deter the resolve of the armed forces. He emphasized that further intelligence-based operations will continue across the country to uproot terrorism.

Public and Political Response

The successful mission has been widely hailed by political leaders, security experts, and the general public, who have expressed their solidarity with the armed forces. The nation mourns the loss of innocent lives but remains steadfast in its support for a terror-free Pakistan.

Security officials have also urged citizens to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to authorities, reinforcing the message that national security is a collective responsibility.
