The Israeli government has detained seven citizens, including a military member and two minors, for allegedly providing sensitive information regarding military bases to Iran.
Israeli media reports indicate that the individuals, all from Haifa, stand accused of performing hundreds of tasks for Iranian intelligence. They reportedly gathered intelligence on various military facilities, including the Kiriya Defense Headquarters, Nevatim and Ramat David airbases, and Iron Dome battery sites.
This intelligence was reportedly used by Iranian forces to target the Nevatim military base in missile strikes on two occasions this year. Additionally, the Hezbollah group is said to have targeted Ramat David based on the information provided.
The suspects allegedly also obtained maps of strategic locations, including the Golani base, which was struck in a recent drone attack that resulted in significant damage.
During questioning, the suspects confessed to working with Iranian intelligence agencies for two years, maintaining continuous contact with Iranian operatives. Investigators claim they received payments in cryptocurrency and cash totaling millions of dollars for their activities.
Prosecutors plan to file charges against the seven suspects on Friday and seek to keep them in custody until legal proceedings conclude.
