Sheikh Dr. Mohammed Alissa Delivers Eid Sermon in Albania at Presidential Invitation
At the official request of the President of Albania, His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Mohammed Alissa, Secretary-General of the Muslim World League and Chairman of the Organization of Muslim Scholars, delivered the Eid sermon at the Great Mosque of Tirana, emphasizing the values of unity, kindness, and moral integrity.
During his address, Sheikh Dr. Alissa highlighted that compassion and goodwill are fundamental traits of a true Muslim. He emphasized that Islamic teachings encourage believers to foster unity, extend generosity, spread joy, forgive others, and alleviate suffering without causing harm.
“A Muslim’s character is naturally built on noble values, and challenges or hardships only serve to strengthen their moral resolve,” he stated.
Sheikh Dr. Alissa further emphasized that every Muslim has a duty to uphold the honorable image of Islam, not just through words but through actions that reflect integrity and ethical values. He reminded the audience that true devotion to Islam is demonstrated by steadfast adherence to its principles, regardless of external pressures or provocations.
He commended those who enhance Islam’s reputation through kindness and good conduct, citing the Quranic verse: ‘And by the Mercy of Allah, you dealt with them gently.
He also praised Albania’s longstanding commitment to faith, social cohesion, and peaceful coexistence, calling the nation an exemplary model of harmony and moral character.
Sheikh Dr. Alissa concluded his sermon by emphasizing the role of righteous upbringing in shaping successful societies. He noted that behind every prosperous nation lies a strong foundation of ethical education, with virtuous women playing a pivotal role in nurturing future generations.
