Spain’s Prime Minister, Pedro Sánchez, has made an urgent plea to the international community, urging all nations to stop supplying arms to Israel. He stressed that Israel is using these weapons in violation of international law, particularly in its military actions in Gaza and against the UN peacekeeping forces in Lebanon.
Sánchez condemned Israel’s recent shelling of UN peacekeepers near the Lebanese border and called for a unified global response to halt arms transfers to the country.
Spain’s Ministry of Defense confirmed on Friday that none of the 650 Spanish soldiers stationed as part of the UN peacekeeping mission in Lebanon were harmed in the attack. The peacekeeping force, which is under the command of a Spanish general, continues its operations at the border amidst the escalating tensions.
