Spanish PM Condemns Trump’s Gaza Takeover Plan: ‘No Real Estate Operation Can Cover Up Crimes’
Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez has strongly denounced former U.S. President Donald Trump’s proposal to take control of Gaza, calling it an assault on human rights and international law. Speaking at a public gathering in the Basque Country, Sanchez reaffirmed Spain’s commitment to Palestinian sovereignty and rejected any forced displacement of Palestinians.
Spain Opposes Trump’s Gaza Plan
Sanchez criticized Trump’s vision of turning Gaza into a luxury real estate hub, stating that such a plan ignores the suffering of Palestinians and undermines international law.
“No real estate operation can erase the crimes committed against the Palestinian people. Spain will not allow such injustice,” he declared.
He called for a diplomatic resolution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, advocating for a two-state solution where both Israelis and Palestinians can live in peace.
Spain’s Role in Global Peace Efforts
On international security, Sanchez emphasized that any peace agreement for Ukraine must be led by Ukrainians and negotiated with European partners.
“Europe’s security must be shaped by Europeans, not dictated by outside forces,” he said.
As the president of Socialist International, Sanchez reaffirmed Spain’s leadership in defending democracy, multilateral diplomacy, and global stability, reinforcing the country’s stance as a strong advocate for human rights and international peace.
