The jolts were reported in Lahore, Islamabad, Haripur, Abbottabad, Nowshera, Charsadda, Gujranwala, Chiniot, Swat, Mianwali, Mandi Bahauddin, Upper Dir, Wazirabad, Chakwal, and nearby regions.
According to the National Seismological Center, the earthquake measured 6.0 in magnitude with a depth of 15 kilometers. The epicenter was located in southeastern Afghanistan, sending strong tremors across northern and central Pakistan.
The unexpected tremors sparked fear and alarm among citizens, many of whom rushed out of homes and buildings while reciting prayers. Authorities have so far reported no casualties or damage to property, but emergency services remain on high alert in case of aftershocks.
