The Supreme Court has released its written decision in the Mubarak Sani case, stating that belief in the finality of prophethood is conditional upon recognizing the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) as the last messenger and prophet.
The written verdict emphasizes that Qadianis must acknowledge their established status in the constitution. It notes that objections were raised by religious scholars regarding paragraphs 7, 42, and 49 in previous decisions, leading to the removal of the disputed paragraphs from the rulings of February 6 and July 24.
The court reiterated that belief in the finality of prophethood requires acknowledgment of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) as the last prophet. This recognition will also help determine and protect their rights.
The verdict states that the ruling from February 6 will remain in effect only regarding Mubarak Sani’s bail, while the trial court is directed to proceed with the trial without being influenced by previous decisions and to consider the facts during the hearings against the accused.
Furthermore, the federal and Punjab governments had filed petitions to correct errors in the decision of July 24, leading to notices being issued to 19 religious scholars. After hearing their objections regarding paragraphs 7, 42, and 49, the court has removed the disputed paragraphs from the earlier rulings. The current decision is now considered final and conclusive in this case.
