The Swedish Embassy brought the warmth and charm of Scandinavian traditions to the capital on Friday with a lively celebration of ‘Lucia Day.’ The event, deeply rooted in Swedish culture, highlighted themes of light, unity, and hope during the year’s darkest season.
The evening’s centerpiece was the serene Lucia procession, where participants from the Swedish and Nordic communities dressed in white and carried candles while performing traditional Swedish songs. The peaceful ambiance left guests captivated.
To add a culinary touch, attendees enjoyed saffron buns, gingerbread cookies, and other Swedish delicacies, offering a delightful taste of the Nordic nation’s rich food culture.
Swedish Ambassador Alexandra Berg von Linde, who recently arrived in Pakistan, shared her reflections on the country’s hospitality and vibrant culture. “Lucia is about light and hope, and sharing this tradition with our friends in Pakistan deepens our friendship as we celebrate 75 years of diplomatic relations,” she said.
The event served as a platform to foster cultural exchange and highlight the enduring relationship between Sweden and Pakistan.
The embassy, adorned with Swedish-themed decorations, buzzed with lively conversations, embodying the spirit of connection and mutual appreciation. Organizers expressed gratitude to the guests and contributors who made the celebration memorable, emphasizing the importance of unity and shared traditions.
