Syria Declares End to Military Operation Against al-Assad Loyalists

The Syrian Ministry of Defence has officially announced the end of military operations in the country’s coastal region, where loyalists of former President Bashar al-Assad had clashed with government forces.

In a statement on X (formerly Twitter), Defence Ministry spokesman Hassan Abdul Ghani confirmed that security threats in Latakia and Tartous had been neutralized. The western provinces, known as strongholds of the Alawite sect and key Assad supporters, had witnessed intense fighting over the past few days.
