Pakistani Tayyab Ikram has been re-elected as the president of the International Hockey Federation (FIH) for an unprecedented eight-year term, marking his second consecutive appointment and first under the new extended tenure.
Following an amendment to the FIH constitution, the presidential term has been expanded to eight years, making Ikram the first to hold this position for such a period.
The announcement was made during the FIH Congress held in Oman, where it was confirmed that Ikram was elected unopposed. His leadership is set to continue until 2032.
The FIH Congress also saw the adoption of other key decisions aimed at shaping the future of international hockey.
