Team Eco-EduTech from Daharki Wins Entrepreneur Competition at British High Commission
Team Eco-EduTech from Daharki, Sindh, secured victory in the eighth cycle of the Enterprise Challenge Pakistan, an inter-school business competition organized by the British High Commission in collaboration with The King’s Trust International and SEED Ventures.
The team presented an innovative business idea focusing on utilizing waste materials to develop learning tools for children with disabilities. Their concept demonstrated creativity, sustainability, and social responsibility, earning them the top position in the competition.
The final round of the competition was held in Islamabad on January 18 and featured five teams from different regions of Pakistan, each showcasing unique startup ideas aimed at solving real-world challenges.
1. Green Sprout Farm (Peshawar) – A project designed to enhance agricultural yields while conserving water and space.
2. Paws on Wheels (Multan)– A mobile pet healthcare service providing veterinary care at residents’ doorsteps.
3. Nutribites (Quetta)– A product offering nutrient-rich gummies as a convenient alternative to conventional tablets and pills.
4. Aqua Wave (Islamabad)– A portable water purifying bottle ensuring access to clean drinking water anywhere, anytime.
Mahnoor received the King’s Trust Global Young Achiever Award Asia 2024 for her innovative approach to using fly larvae and food waste to produce organic chicken feed and powdered chitosan.
British High Commissioner Jane Marriott CMB OBE hosted the event and praised the young entrepreneurs for their vision and impact. She emphasized the importance of fostering creativity and entrepreneurship among Pakistani youth and commended the participants for their contributions to their communities.
The Enterprise Challenge Pakistan has engaged over 8,000 students since its inception, with 1,700 students participating this year. The program collaborates with the Federal Ministry of Education and Professional Training, ensuring the involvement of public schools, which accounted for 31% of the total competing institutions.
The King’s Trust International operates in 20 countries, providing young people with skills and opportunities to develop their entrepreneurial potential. SEED Ventures continues to support social enterprises and innovative business solutions to drive positive change.
The event concluded with a reaffirmation of the commitment to encouraging young entrepreneurs in Pakistan and strengthening future collaborations in business and social impact.
