Tragic incident near Jinnah International Airport Karachi, a terrorist attack claimed the lives of three Chinese nationals. The attack, which also left 17 individuals injured, targeted a convoy transporting Chinese staff from the Port Qasim Authority Electric Power Company (Private) Limited. The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA), a militant group, has claimed responsibility for the bombing.
According to the Chinese Embassy’s official website, the attack occurred at around 11 p.m. on October 6, killing two Chinese citizens and injuring one. The explosion also resulted in injuries to police and Rangers personnel, along with civilians.
Sindh’s Home Minister, Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjhar, stated in a media briefing that the foreign convoy had passed safely before the blast, which injured four police officers, Rangers personnel, and civilians. The explosion set three vehicles and four motorcycles ablaze. After an hour-long effort, rescue teams were able to extinguish the fire.
DIG East confirmed that three people had died in the explosion, and the injured, including a woman, security personnel, Rangers, police officers, and civilians, were immediately transferred to a nearby hospital. Teams from the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) and the Bomb Disposal Squad arrived at the scene to gather evidence.
