The Special Court Central-I in Islamabad has framed charges against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan and his wife, Bushra Bibi, in the Toshakhana 2 case.
The hearing was conducted at Adiala Jail, presided over by Judge Shah Rukh Arjumand. Both Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi were present during the proceedings.
The court read out the charges to the accused, who pleaded not guilty. The hearing was then adjourned until December 18.
The case was initially investigated by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), but following amendments to NAB laws, it was transferred to the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA). In September 2024, the FIA submitted the final challan to the court after completing its investigation.
The previous hearing was held on December 5 at Adiala Jail, during which Bushra Bibi did not appear. The court issued her arrest warrants and also served a notice to her guarantor, adjourning the case.
Earlier today, the Islamabad High Court disposed of a petition seeking the cancellation of Bushra Bibi’s bail in the Toshakhana 2 case.
