Trump and Biden Meet at the White House, Agree on Peaceful Transition

President Joe Biden and incoming President Donald Trump met at the White House for the first time since the election. Their meeting, held in the Oval Office, centered around ensuring a smooth and peaceful transfer of power, scheduled for January.

Biden reassured the nation of his commitment to a peaceful transition, stating, “We are determined to do this as we said we would, ensuring a peaceful transfer of power and providing any necessary support to you. Welcome, and welcome back.”

Trump, reflecting on the difficulties of politics, praised the transition process, acknowledging the current state of the world while affirming, “Politics is tough, but today is a good day. I honor this peaceful transfer and commend Biden for his role in it.”

The meeting, though cordial, was brief, with neither leader taking questions from the press.

Earlier, Trump arrived at the White House, greeted by Biden, First Lady Jill Biden, and other officials. As part of tradition, the First Lady presented Trump with a personal letter for Melania Trump and reaffirmed the Biden administration’s commitment to facilitating the transition process.
