Trump Expresses Displeasure Over Russia’s Ongoing Strikes in Ukraine
President Donald Trump has expressed his frustration over the ongoing missile strikes launched by Russia on Ukraine, describing the situation as “not a good” development amid global efforts to mediate an end to the conflict.
During a meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House, Trump commented on the escalating violence, stating:
I don’t know what’s happening there. That’s not a good situation.”
Trump’s remarks followed a question about his administration’s new tariff policy, which notably excluded Russia despite its continued aggression in Ukraine. The president explained that the lack of tariffs was due to the U.S. not engaging in trade with Russia, as they are actively involved in the ongoing war.
US Efforts to Broker Peace Talks
Despite his frustration with Russia’s actions, Trump revealed that U.S. officials are in discussions with both Russia and Ukraine, though he stopped short of specifying whether these talks are close to reaching a ceasefire agreement.
Trump also revealed that during a recent conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin, he felt “pissed off” after Putin rejected his proposal for an immediate and comprehensive ceasefire.
“We’re getting close, but we’ll see how it all turns out,” Trump added, hinting at the possibility of negotiations moving forward, though no definitive progress has been made yet.
