Trump Fires 3 High-profile National Security Officials
Former President Donald Trump has reportedly dismissed several National Security Council (NSC) officials after a meeting with far-right activist Laura Loomer, according to multiple sources.
During a 30-minute Oval Office meeting, Loomer allegedly presented Trump with opposition research on NSC staff, accusing them of disloyalty and criticizing their actions directly in front of their boss, National Security Adviser Michael Waltz. Loomer has been vocal on social media about certain officials, including Deputy National Security Adviser Alex Wong, whom she falsely accused of working against the administration.
Following the meeting, the White House dismissed at least three senior NSC staffers linked to a high-profile national security leak involving a Signal group chat that accidentally included a journalist. Those fired include:
- Brian Walsh, Senior Director of Intelligence
- Thomas Boodry, Senior Director of Legislative Affairs
- David Feith, Senior Director for Technology and National Security
The dismissals come amid growing controversy surrounding Michael Waltz, who has been under scrutiny for mismanaging classified information. Reports indicate that his team used personal Gmail accounts for government business and frequently communicated through multiple Signal chat groups, one of which led to a major security breach regarding planned military strikes in Yemen.
The meeting was also attended by Vice President JD Vance, White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles, Communications Director Steven Cheung, and Representative Scott Perry, a key Trump ally. Perry reportedly brought his own list of staffing concerns to the discussion.
Loomer, a far-right conspiracy theorist, has been banned from several platforms for spreading Islamophobic rhetoric and false claims, including theories about 9/11 and Jeffrey Epstein. Her growing influence in Trump’s inner circle has sparked concerns about the politicization of national security decisions.
