Trump Issues Sanctions Threat Over Iranian Oil and Petrochemical Purchases
Report By Safarti Tarjuman International Desk
US President Donald Trump has declared that any country or individual purchasing oil or petrochemical products from Iran will face immediate secondary sanctions. He emphasized that such buyers will be banned from doing any business with the United States.
Posting on Truth Social, Trump warned:
“All purchases of Iranian oil or petrochemical products must stop now. Anyone involved in this trade will face immediate sanctions and will be barred from engaging in any form of business with the United States.”
The announcement follows the postponement of planned nuclear negotiations between Washington and Tehran, originally scheduled for Saturday in Rome. An Iranian official confirmed that a new date would be decided based on the future stance of the United States.
The US administration has recently imposed several sanctions on foreign companies linked to Iran’s oil trade, including a Chinese oil storage site and a private refinery accused of handling illicit shipments. These actions underline Washington’s firm approach to curbing Iran’s energy exports and pressuring the regime over its nuclear program.
