Trump Threatens New Tariffs on China and Others country’s If Trade negotiations fail
Report By Safarti Tarjuman Business Desk
U.S. President Donald Trump has issued a fresh warning that new tariffs could be introduced against China and other nations within weeks if ongoing trade negotiations fail to deliver meaningful progress.
Tariffs Loom Amid Stalled Trade Talks
During a media briefing, President Trump emphasized his administration’s readiness to take swift action. He made it clear that the United States would not hesitate to impose additional tariffs if fair trade agreements are not finalized soon.
“We’re prepared to act. If we don’t see results soon, we’ll move forward with new tariffs — and not just on China,” Trump said.
Renewed Pressure on China
The latest remarks signal renewed pressure on China, which has long been the focus of U.S. trade concerns. Washington accuses Beijing of unfair trade practices, intellectual property violations, and creating an imbalanced economic relationship.
Negotiations between the two sides have reportedly slowed in recent weeks, raising fears of another trade escalation.
Other Countries May Be Targeted
Trump also hinted that several other countries could face similar measures if current trade terms remain unchanged. While he did not name specific nations, analysts suggest countries with large trade surpluses with the U.S. could be affected.
