Trump Warns Putin Is ‘Playing with Fire’ as Russia Intensifies Offensive in Ukraine

U.S. President Donald Trump has issued a stern warning to Russian President Vladimir Putin, saying he is “playing with fire” by escalating military operations in Ukraine and resisting ceasefire negotiations, as Russian troops continue to make strategic advances in the northeast.

The comment, made in a Truth Social post on Tuesday, marks Trump’s second public rebuke of Putin in three days. It follows a series of intensified drone and missile attacks launched by Russia—considered among the deadliest since the war began over three years ago.

“What Vladimir Putin doesn’t realize is that if it weren’t for me, lots of really bad things would have already happened in Russia, and I mean REALLY BAD. He’s playing with fire,” Trump posted, without offering further clarification.

On Sunday, Trump described Putin as having “gone absolutely CRAZY” in the wake of Russia’s massive aerial bombardment of Ukrainian cities.
