Turkish Ambassador Inaugurates Calligraphy Exhibition Showcasing Islamic Art

Dr. Irfan Neziroglu, Ambassador of Turkiye to Pakistan, inaugurated a calligraphy exhibition by renowned Pakistani artist Wasil Shahid, celebrating the beauty of Islamic art and the names of Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).
The exhibition, hosted by the Yunus Emre Cultural Institute in Islamabad, pays tribute to legendary Turkish calligrapher Master Hasan Celebi. It gathered ambassadors from 24 Islamic countries, as well as Pakistani scholars, intellectuals, and art enthusiasts.
During the event, Ambassador Dr. Irfan Neziroglu emphasized the strong cultural ties between Pakistan and Turkiye, noting that both nations share a rich artistic legacy that fosters tolerance and unity worldwide. He described the Pakistan-Turkiye relationship as a model of friendship and brotherhood for the world.
Dr. Khalil Toker, Head of the Yunus Emre Cultural Institute (Pakistan Chapter), highlighted the institute’s commitment to preserving shared artistic traditions. He stressed the importance of reviving classical calligraphy and cultural values that often fade amid modern influences.
The exhibition not only showcased Wasil Shahid’s exquisite calligraphy but also reinforced the deep-rooted artistic connection between Pakistan and Turkiye. By promoting Islamic calligraphy, the event celebrated the spiritual and cultural bond that unites the two nations.
