Turkish President Erdogan Calls on UN to Consider Use of Force Against Israel

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has urged the United Nations to consider taking action against Israel if it continues violating international laws in Gaza and Lebanon. Speaking after a cabinet meeting in Ankara, President Erdogan emphasized that if the UN Security Council fails to prevent Israel’s attacks, the UN General Assembly should invoke the use of force under a 1950 resolution.

“If the Security Council cannot show the necessary resolve to stop Israel, then the General Assembly should exercise its authority and propose the use of force, as it did under the 1950 ‘Uniting for Peace’ resolution,” Erdogan stated.

The Turkish president also expressed disappointment over the lack of a strong stance from Muslim countries against Israel. He urged these nations to increase pressure on Israel for a ceasefire by taking tough economic, diplomatic, and political measures.
