Türkiye Reaffirms Support for Kashmir Resolution on Solidarity Day
Türkiye has reiterated its unwavering support for the resolution of the Kashmir dispute, emphasizing that a just settlement is essential for regional peace and stability.
Speaking on Kashmir Solidarity Day, Türkiye’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Irfan Neziroglu, reaffirmed his country’s commitment to the rights of the Kashmiri people and the need for a peaceful resolution based on justice and international law.
Call for a UN-Mediated Solution
Ambassador Neziroglu underscored that Türkiye stands by United Nations resolutions on Kashmir and supports a settlement that reflects the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
“We reaffirm our unwavering support to the resolution of the Kashmir issue on the basis of justice and international commitments,” he said.
Türkiye has consistently advocated for diplomatic engagement to resolve the decades-long dispute between Pakistan and India, emphasizing that a peaceful resolution is key to stability in South Asia.
Türkiye’s Continued Support for Kashmir
Türkiye has been a vocal advocate for Kashmir at global forums, including the United Nations, Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), and international human rights platforms. President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has repeatedly raised the Kashmir issue in his speeches at the UN General Assembly, urging the international community to play a constructive role in resolving the conflict.
Pakistan Appreciates Türkiye’s Stance
Pakistani officials have welcomed Türkiye’s strong stance on Kashmir, acknowledging its consistent diplomatic and moral support. Islamabad has long sought global intervention to push for a peaceful resolution in accordance with UN Security Council resolutions.
