Two Supreme Court Judges Assassinated in Iran; Attacker Takes Own Life
Two Supreme Court judges were shot dead in Tehran, Iran on Saturday, while another judge and a bodyguard were injured in the attack, according to Iran’s judiciary news agency, Mizan.
The incident occurred outside the Supreme Court, where the assailant opened fire before taking his own life. Authorities have not yet disclosed the motive behind the attack, and an investigation is underway.
The judiciary identified the slain judges as Ayatollah Mohammad Moghiseh and Ayatollah Ali Razini. Moghiseh had previously been mentioned by opposition groups in connection with trials involving political prisoners, though Iranian officials have not confirmed any link between his past rulings and the attack.
The shooting marks a significant security breach in Tehran and raises concerns over the safety of judicial officials in Iran.
