U.S. Chargé d’Affaires Calls on PM Shahbaz, Reaffirms Commitment to Strengthening Ties

 

U.S. Chargé d’Affaires Natalie Baker met with Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif on Tuesday for a courtesy call, highlighting the new U.S. Administration’s commitment to working with Pakistan on shared goals to strengthen bilateral relations.

During the meeting, PM Shahbaz reaffirmed Pakistan’s strong desire to enhance cooperation with the U.S. in various sectors, including trade, IT, agriculture, health, education, and energy. He also underscored the importance of continued collaboration in counter-terrorism efforts, particularly in addressing threats posed by Daesh and Fitna Al Khawarij (FAK).

The Prime Minister recalled the longstanding history of Pakistan-U.S. cooperation and emphasized the need to further solidify diplomatic and economic ties.

Chargé d’Affaires Natalie Baker thanked PM Shahbaz for the warm reception, expressing Washington’s interest in fostering a strong and strategic partnership with Islamabad.
