Ukraine Accepts U.S.-Brokered 30-Day Ceasefire, Awaiting Russia’s Response
Ukraine has agreed to a 30-day ceasefire in its ongoing war with Russia, following a proposal from the United States, U.S. officials confirmed after diplomatic talks in Saudi Arabia. The ceasefire is contingent on Russia’s approval, shifting the next move to the Kremlin.
In response, the Trump administration announced the immediate resumption of military aid and intelligence sharing with Kyiv. The U.S. had suspended these measures last week to pressure Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy into negotiations aimed at ending the war.
U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated, “The ball is now in Russia’s court.” The global community is now awaiting Moscow’s decision on the temporary truce, which could mark a critical turning point in the conflict.
