UN Chief Urges Immediate Restoration of Humanitarian Aid to Gaza
United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has called for the immediate resumption of humanitarian aid to Gaza, urging all parties to prevent a resurgence of hostilities.
In a statement shared on social media platform X, Guterres emphasized the need for urgent action, stating, “The Secretary-General urges all parties to make every effort to prevent a return to hostilities in Gaza. He calls for humanitarian aid to flow back into Gaza immediately and for the release of all hostages.”
The plea comes after Israel suspended aid deliveries to the region, citing security concerns and ongoing tensions. The humanitarian situation in Gaza has deteriorated significantly, with aid organizations warning of severe shortages of food, medical supplies, and essential resources for civilians.
The UN continues to push for diplomatic efforts to restore stability, emphasizing that humanitarian assistance must remain neutral and uninterrupted to protect vulnerable populations.
