Yemen’s Armed Forces have claimed responsibility for a series of high-profile attacks, including a ballistic missile strike near Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv and coordinated drone and missile operations against two U.S. Navy aircraft carriers in the Arabian Sea.

According to a statement by Brigadier General Yahya Sarea, spokesperson for the Yemeni military, a Zulfiqar ballistic missile was fired at what was described as a military site near the Israeli-occupied city of Jaffa, as part of Yemen’s ongoing support for the Palestinian people amid the ongoing Israeli military campaign in Gaza.

Speaking to a large gathering in Sanaa’s Sabeen Square, Sarea emphasized Yemen’s continued military stance, saying that the Armed Forces will escalate their operations in response to any further aggression.

He also confirmed a dual operation involving drones and cruise missiles aimed at the USS Harry S. Truman and the USS Carl Vinson, marking the first reported strike on the Vinson since it arrived in regional waters. The operation also included strikes on support warships accompanying the carriers.

In a further escalation, Yemeni forces reported the downing of a U.S. MQ-9 Reaper drone conducting surveillance over the capital. This marks the fifth such drone downed in recent weeks and the 20th since the launch of what Yemen calls the “Battle of the Promised Victory.”

There has been no official response from the U.S. Department of Defense regarding the reported attacks.
